Outside of the minimum reporting times. There will be many reasons for updating already completed data collection form fields. This may include but is not limited to amending an error, improving data quality, adding additional comments and further update of Section 136 Suite capacity (continuously and contemporaneously).
To undertake this task, a user will need to access the data collection form and update the field through selecting the update data icon by the respective field requiring update and then selecting save.
The following fields must be considered mandatory and updated to support OPEL calculation and overview of demand and capacity within the Bed Availability dashboards:
- All fields that affect bed occupancy %
- Section 136 Suite – No. of empty suite spaces
- Section 136 breaches
- Patients waiting to be admitted from all settings (admission referrals)
- Completed discharges
- Patients fit for discharge
- Number of Trust adult patients placed in a mental health bed outside of the Trust
- Beds Closed To Admission
The system only displays saved data. Data can be saved by pressing the Save Data button at the foot of the screen – press once and wait for a notice at the top of the screen to confirm successful capture.
The audit on site (trust) singular view dashboards can also be reviewed to confirm capture.
Please note – with the exception of narrative comments sections all other input is numerical data only. No negative numbers should be submitted. All fields must be completed even if non applicable. Non-applicable data should have a 0 (zero) entered.
Do not enter hyphens or other special characters into the non-narrative data fields. No numeric fields should be left blank.
Users should always check data entries prior to submission.
